PADOVA, VICENZA & PALLADIO
Andrea Palladio is often described as the most influential, and most copied, architect in the Western world. Drawing inspiration from classical architecture, he created carefully proportioned, pedimented buildings that became models for stately homes and government buildings in Europe and America. Palladio designed many churches, villas, and palaces, especially in Venice, Vicenza and the surrounding area. The interior design of each Villa was to be as wonderful, if not more so than the exterior, therefore some famous contemporary artists were commissioned to paint frescoes in the principal salons. A number of Palladio's works are protected as part of the World Heritage Site Palladian Villas of the Veneto.

AMARONE WINE TASTING
More than a valley, Valpolicella is a series of valleys in fan shape running north-south above Verona. It has an excellent climate, rolling countryside and many water courses. In Valpolicella vineyards are a characteristic feature of the region. In Roman times, the cultivation of grapevines was ample and diffuse, as was the intensification of the refinement and commerce of wine. The Amarone, “passito” wine made from dried grapes, is produced according to a method known since ancient times that requires withering of the grapes on grids.
Cost:
1 to 4 people Euro 615
5 to 8 people Euro 740
(prices does not include the wine tasting: the price of the wine tasting depends on the quantity and quality of the wines selected for the tasting: it can vary from 10 to 50 euro per person)
