Emilia Romagna

The Emilia–Romagna region is known for its rich cuisine and for its renaissance towns. Food and wine are ever present parts of theses areas and lend each its individuality. Bologna is renown for pasta dishes like tortellini, lasagne, gramigna and tagliatelle, and of course its famous Bolognese sauce. Prosciutto is the claim to fame for the town of Parma which produces the most popular variety for the region and the country. The town Modena is world famous for its production of balsamic vinegar with its products available worldwide as well. The famous Parmigiano Reggiano is produced in different areas of Emilia Romagna and is a popular ingredient for cuisine around the globe. The uniqueness of each town is evident and cherished.  Ravenna is known for its numerous mosaics, while Rimini serves as the destination for Italian getaways and was the hometown of famed director Frederico Fellini. Many prominent companies such as Ferrari, Bugatti and Lambroghini call the region home.

Major attractions: the towns of Bologna, Parma, Modena, Ferrara, Ravenna.  The Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ducati factories and museums.  Typical of this region are the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, the Bolognese sauce, the Parma's Ham, and Modena's Balsamic Vinegar.
