Teatro La Fenice

La Fenice theatre, built by a company of upper-tier block holders, ex-proprietors of the San Benedetto Theatre, appeared right from the start as the official theatre of the Venetian aristocracy: this status also reflected itself in its elegant architectonic decorative appearance. Inaugurated in 1792, the new theatre immediately took on a position of absolute prominence in the lagoon city, reserving for itself the most prestigious music of the time, the serious opera.

Ateneo di San Basso - I Virtuosi di Venezia

The orchestra Virtuosi di Venezia-San Marco Chamber Orchestra reproposes in its concerts the atmosphere and the genius of Vivaldi' compositions. The ensemble and the musical formation have both been chosen to recall the exact situation in which Vivaldi worked. Even the decision to perform in the prestigious Ateneo di San Basso in San Marco square follows this direction: in fact it has the same dimensions of the Pietà Institute music hall in which Vivaldi composed.
