AMALFI COAST:POMPEII
Pompeii was a Roman town buried by the volcano Vesuvio's eruption on Aug 24th, 79 a.d. The king of Naples, Charles of Bourbon, started the excavations in 1738. You can now walk along Pompeii's streets, visit several houses, the amphitheater, the public pool, and admire the several well preserved frescos who testify the liveliness of the town.
No reservations are required to enter the excavations; usually there is no line or a short line at the entrance.
