Operas, Concerts & Special Events

Italy’s art and entertainment have dazzled fans and followers for centuries. That spirit of artistic performance still exists in Italy’s art and is as present and wondrous in a famous theater like Milan's Teatro alla Scala as it is watching one of Venice's amazing street performers. Italy is a center for great opera and many cities boast world famous opera houses. In these halls, some of the world’s greatest stage performers present classic plays and modern productions. Being an art and opera mecca helps Italy attract iconic performers from around the music world and great music festivals can be found throughout Italy.

The Umbria Jazz Festival is a can’t miss music experience, held yearly since the 70’s.  The Arena di Verona, an original Roman theater, holds its amazing opera festival every summer. The stunning performances are matched by the incredible structure that holds them. The Summer festival at the Caracalla Baths in Rome  presents classic operas and ballets set in the historic ruins. A magical experience that brings back the emotions of ancient Rome and transports the traveler to a distant past as one enjoys the present.

At Cultural Italy we know that a great vacation to Italy is one that helps experience as much of Italy’s lust for life as possible. The belief that life is an expression of joy and that one’s art must come from the soul to achieve greatness is an emotion that is captured by many Italian artists like Andrea Bocelli, Riccardo Muti, Roberto Benigni, and many more. The experience of Italy is a gift given to you by the performers; it is also a gift you give to yourself.

Teatro La Fenice

La Fenice theatre, built by a company of upper-tier block holders, ex-proprietors of the San Benedetto Theatre, appeared right from the start as the official theatre of the Venetian aristocracy: this status also reflected itself in its elegant architectonic decorative appearance. Inaugurated in 1792, the new theatre immediately took on a position of absolute prominence in the lagoon city, reserving for itself the most prestigious music of the time, the serious opera.
